Recently, I've felt dizzy upon standing. Is this something I should be concerned about?

This past week, almost everyday when I stand after laying down or sitting for an extended period, I get dizzy.

I%26#039;m a 24 year old male, near my target weight, (5%26#039;10%26#039;%26#039;, 150 lbs) but I drink a lot of caffiene and, take ritalin for ADD as needed (although I%26#039;ve been proscribed 10 mg, I usually only take about 1 or 2 at a setting). I jog 30 minutes almost everyday and don%26#039;t drink or take any drugs, but I don%26#039;t eat particularly well.

My parents have emergency health insurance only, so going to a physician would be very expensive. Is there any way that I could diagnose this and should I be concerned?

Medications/Supplements:

Benedril, Ritalin, Ginkgo Biloba

Possible low blood pressure. Try using one of the testers at a pharmacy counter - note that some are very accurate while others are not. A pharmacist can tell you how offen the machine is calibrated. But you%26#039;ve got a lot of other issues going on too.

(also, dizzy like the room spins or dizzy like feel like you could pass out? they can have different causes)

PS: Eat better!
Reply:Go see your doctor. Mixing drugs, even over-the counter drugs, can affect your bloodpressure. It sounds as though its high, which would explain your dizziness.

Im not a doctor, but your symptoms sound alot like mine did before I was diagnosed with Hypertension. Dont wait, dont take my word. GO SEE A DOCTOR%26gt; ASAP
Reply:go see your doctor there could be a huge problem. Or it could be lack of sleep.
Reply:Could be that you are standing up too quickly. Or, since you say that you don%26#039;t eat well then it could be that you have a iron deficiency. Eat some more green vegetables and nuts, it will help you.
Reply:could be your immune system is weak. you should try building your immune system with natural juice like mangosteen and you should take antioxidant.
Reply:This can be caused by a sudden drop of blood pressure. If this is the case the dizziness doesn%26#039;t last long. You can sit on the side of the bed and dangle your feet for a minute or two before getting out of bed. Get up out of the chair a little slower. This should help keep you from geting as dizzy if it is a change in blood pressure. If this continues especially after trying these things, you need to see a Dr. You may also want to see if there are any interactions between the medicines you are taking.
Reply:It is called postural hypotension. It has many causes, incuding many medications and often caffeine.

Like any other symptom, it indicates omething is wrong. Seeing a physcian is the wisest thing to do.
